Equip is a 9-month training program which prepares participants to serve in the hardest-to-reach places and people groups. Our training occurs in Armenia, a country surrounded by nations hostile to the gospel. Seasoned TRIAD staff members teach methods to penetrate the barriers of the unreached world and enable participants to thrive amidst the adversity of a missional life.

Our Unique Design

Strategic Location

Our training center is located on the doorstep of the Muslim world, removed from the comforts and conveniences of western countries. Our instructors, global experts who have served in frontier missions, utilize the opportunities of this location to provide applicable, on-the-ground experiences.

Cross-Cultural Experience

We facilitate direct, actual language-learning and you will have immediate opportunities to acquire a language spoken in unreached areas of the world. Our training program is designed to connect individuals from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds. You will study alongside indigenous believers from the regions surrounding Armenia and experience cross-cultural immersion both inside and outside of the classroom.

Individual Approach

We offer personalized coaching to help you formulate your future ministry plans, in addition to professional counseling and individual discipleship throughout the duration of the program. We desire to see every participant thoroughly prepared for the specific future that God has for them.

Who is the training for?

We have designed our training using methods that involve in-depth classroom discussions while providing space for participants to practically experience every aspect of a life that revolves around the Great Commission. Our training school is designed for individuals, couples, and families, if you:

Are at least 18 years old.
Have a heart for missions.
Desire to serve among an unengaged or unreached people group.
Are open to a future in disciple-making & church-planting.
Have a strong, established relationship with God.
Are involved in your local church and are in conversation with your local church about your desire to serve in missions.
Are a high school or college graduate looking to learn mission strategy while putting it into practice first-hand.
Are single and/or married and want to take the next step toward a missional life.
Are a couple with kids that desire to practically learn how to live on mission as a family.

How do I apply?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Priority is given to first applicants.

Your references will be contacted separately by TRIAD requesting them for information on your behalf and the EQUIP directors will conduct an online interview with you. After your application and references have been reviewed and approved, you will be sent our Welcome Packet. This Welcome Packet will provide more details of the program allowing you to prayerfully consider the opportunity before making a final commitment. After your signed commitment has been received and a $500 non-refundable registration fee has been paid, your spot in EQUIP will be reserved.

When does the training occur?

Our 2025-26 EQUIP begins on September 1, 2025 and concludes on May 29, 2026. Apply now to join our 2025-2026 training class.

What are the prerequisites?

Participants must be at least 18 years old and have successfully completed AWAKEN by the start date of the program. In addition, we are looking for people who are open to long-term disciple-making and church-planting work among an unreached people group. Participants need to have a strong, existing relationship with God. They need to be involved in their local church and in conversation with their local church about their desire to serve in missions. Participants should also be in good physical health and able to participate in physically demanding activities.

What are the costs?

Tuition paid to TRIAD is $11,000. This includes housing, training costs, outreach trips, and weekday lunches.

Costs for other expenses (flights, food, transportation, travel insurance, and other living expenses) depend on your personal situation (individual, married, family). Participants will be responsible for their costs, and we encourage support raising through your local church. For an individual, we recommend a total fundraising goal of $15,500 which covers tuition and personal expenses.

Are my children able to join me?

Yes, families with children are encouraged to apply. Contact us if you want more information about accommodations for your specific family situation.

Do I have to be affiliated with a ‘sending organization’?

No, participants do not have to be affiliated with a ‘sending organization.’ Your local church, however, plays a key role in sending you as a long-term missionary. A healthy relationship with your sending church and other donors on your support team is critical to your longevity on the field.

What happens after I complete EQUIP training?

TRIAD deploys cross-cultural workers to the field, but there is no guarantee of field deployment through TRIAD upon graduation of the EQUIP training program. We partner with many sending organizations focused on unreached people groups and will help to foster relationships with those organizations for potential field assignments.

What are the living arrangements?

You will be staying at a local apartment with other participants as roommates. We will encourage you to meet your neighbors and immerse yourself in the local living environment. If you are married and/or have children, the EQUIP directors will speak to you about individual accommodations for your family.

What’s the daily schedule like?

A typical Monday through Friday includes a blend of classroom teaching, practical application in the field, language study, prayer & worship, discipleship, and Bible study.
