Nepal Becomes a Mission Force to the Nations

The following story is from one of our Frontline Strategic Partners (FSPs) in Nepal.
A remarkable shift is taking place in the history of Nepalese Christianity: for the first time ever, Nepal is sending missionaries to the nations. This moment marks a powerful turning point. Where Nepal was once seen primarily as a mission field, it is now becoming a mission force. God is clearly at work, writing a new chapter as Nepalese believers rise up, empowered by his calling and ready to carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.
One of the most awe-inspiring aspects of the training is the transformation that takes place in the hearts of those who participate. Many come to the training—designed for those taking jobs abroad, preparing them to live missionally and carry the gospel wherever they go—urged by their pastors to attend. At first, they expect nothing more than generic advice: “Stay close to the Lord, read your Bible, pray, don’t forget your family, and be a good person while abroad.” But God’s plans were far greater than they ever anticipated.
As these individuals began to engage in our training, something extraordinary happened. In nearly every session, tears flowed freely as the Spirit of God moved powerfully in their hearts. By the time the graduation service arrived, these same individuals shared testimonies that left everyone in awe.
One graduate shared:
“I’ve been a Christian for 15–20 years, but in just these three days, my life has been transformed. I now realize that I wasn’t born just to work or study. I’ve discovered the true purpose of my life. From this day forward, I am determined to share Jesus wherever I go, no matter the cost. I am ready to stake my life for the Lord, for I have found the real meaning of my existence.”
What’s happening in Nepal right now is nothing short of historic. For the very first time, missionaries are being sent out, not to Nepal, but from Nepal. It’s a powerful shift. A nation once seen as needing the gospel is now carrying it to the nations. And what’s most beautiful is that this isn’t just strategy or planning—it’s the Holy Spirit at work, deeply changing lives and calling people into something far bigger than themselves.
This transformation seen during the training was life-changing. Many showed up unsure, maybe even a little skeptical, expecting another round of basic Christian advice. But what they experienced instead was a personal encounter with God that moved them to tears, stirred their hearts, and completely changed their perspective on what their lives are for.
The story unfolding in Nepal is only just beginning. As missionaries step out in boldness, there’s a growing sense that this movement needs a strong foundation to carry it forward. Out of that need, a new vision is taking shape: a dedicated missionary school in Nepal. Not just a place of learning, but a space where calling is deepened, character is formed, and future missionaries are equipped to go where the gospel is least known.
This rise of missionaries from Nepal is a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness.
